Build Help

Suggested strategy for building:

  1. Solder all of the diodes.  Pay attention to the proper orientation, the arrow points in the direction of the black line.
  2. Solder all of the wires.  I recommend using flexible silicone wrapped wire. For the manuform this will be the thumb cluster to alpha and then alpha to microcontroller.  The Dactyl Alpha section separates and needs to be connected.
  3. Only mount the switches on the top and bottom rows to start.  Solder from the corners in.  Start by soldering the switches in the corner.  This helps to ensure that the PCB is oriented properly in the case.  From there it is just a matter of inserting the rest of the switches, checking to make sure their pins go through the PCB holes, and soldering them in place.
  4. PCB to microcontroller mapping.  Shown as PCB->pro micro

  5. You are able to use QMK Configurator to build your firmware.
    Dactyl QMK Configurator : link
Manuform 6x6 QMK Configurator : link
QMK/Vial build file: link place this file in the keyboards folder of QMK/Vial.  I strongly recommend setting it up with vial.

Here are some guides that have been put together over the years.  These are included here for reference although much of the information may be out of date.  Having full flexible PCBs has made the process of assembly much easier.
