Dactyl Case
Dactyl Case
This is the dactyl one of the first, if not the first, DIY printable split ergonomic ortholinear keyboards. This case has a mount for reset button, TRRS jack, and microcontroller. Due to a modular design you are free to use a wide selection of microcontrollers.
PCBs
Makes building these much easier by turning almost all of the solder points into through hole connections. Thumb cluster is connected to the alpha section via 7x wires. All connections are numbered to take the guess work out of wiring. Simply connect column 1 on the thumb cluster to column 1 on the alpha section.
PCB include both the alpha and thumb cluster. The Alpha section is based on BastardKBs open source PCBs found here. My version is available on github here. Slight modifications in how the silkscreen identifies columns/rows as well as the addition of a thumb cluster breakout and column separator breakouts (for the dactyl you need to split the alpha PCB into two sections).
Firmware
This build uses the "promicro" layout which is found under \handwired\dactyl_promicro folder of QMK. You are free to use the online QMK editor to build your layout.
Includes
Left and right printed cases (total of 4 pieces), 2xTRRS jacks, and 2x reset buttons.
Other Parts/Addons:
For a build you will also need diodes, a microcontroller, microcontroller adapter, and a TRRS cable. All of these can be found on this site. The only things that I do not stock, that are needed, are switches and keycaps. Feel free to reach out if you need help with these. Addons for this include wrist rests, and silicone wrist rest toppers.
Important: to prevent delays please make sure to order the correct microcontroller adapter located here.
